Will my Garmin from GPS Trailmasters work with Trailintel?

• Yes. If you need any assistance with the installation, please contact us.

How do I load or update my Garmin through Trailintel?

• Login at www.trailintel.com, click “Connect Garmin”, and follow the instructions. There is no third party software required, our installer will automatically place the files in the Garmin in the proper format.

I currently use Guru Maps, Locus Map, or BCNAV with GPS Trailmasters, how do I update?

• Please download the Trailintel app and sign in to get started.

How do I turn on offline maps in the app?

• Click the menu icon in the top left corner, then under your Profile settings, switch the toggle ON for the desired region. Download will take about 5 minutes.

How do I track my ride?

• Click the blue play button on the bottom of the screen. To end and save or discard your track, click the red recording icon on the bottom of the screen. Tracks can be located by clicking the search icon in the top right corner, and selecting “Tracks”, then “Mine”.

What benefits does Trailintel offer over my current GPS Trailmasters setup on my phone?

• In brief; automatically streamed updates anytime the device is online, more states added to our trail coverage, both ATV and snowmobile maps covered in a single subscription, and soon will feature live rider view in the app and Car Play compatibility.

Will you support my Polaris Ride Command built-in display? Will this work on my BRP built-in display?

• We are currently working on making Trailintel available across all OEM platforms.

What if I only want to use my Garmin, and don’t need the mobile or web app?

• A Guide subscription to Trailintel offers you both ATV AND snowmobile map files for your Garmin for the whole Northeast, as well as Midwest, Southeast, Southwest, and any regions we expand to in the future. It is your choice to use the included mobile or web features as well.

Can I share routes I create in Trailintel with my Garmin device?

• Yes, when you update your Garmin, there is an option within the installer to sync your routes that you have created on web or mobile.

How does this work with CarPlay?

• Hold tight! This feature is currently in development. We promise to spread the word when this is live.

What’s the difference between the two subscription levels?

• In brief; the Guide subscription currently offers Garmin maps for all regions VS the single state offered with the Boondocker subscription, as well as live trail conditions and the ability to download offline background maps for multiple regions.

Do I need to make a separate purchase for ATV and snowmobile?

• Our most popular Guide plan currently gives you access to our entire product suite with one single subscription. This includes ATV and Snowmobile trail maps for all regions we currently cover preloaded into the Trailintel mobile app, use of our desktop-version web app, the ability to download offline background maps for any region to your mobile phone, and the Garmin Installer program for your computer.

Where do you get your map data?

• We get our data from many different sources. We work directly with state agencies, clubs, Trailintel Ambassadors, and local Trail Guides to collect information about changing trails. We also receive track files from our users daily that are all manually verified to be correct before being used to make changes to our map. Notice something we need to change? Can I edit or shape my pre-planned route with Trailintel?

• In the web app, you can create a route from point A to point B and add up to 10 intermediate points to shape your route. Use this to create multi-stop trips, plan a few days of riding, or just to take the trails you want to ride. Soon, on the mobile app, you will also be able to physically drag the route to edit your path.

How do I update my Garmin with Trailintel?

• Connect your Garmin to the computer and open the Trailintel installer. If we have a new version of the program available, you’ll be prompted to download it. Once the program is running and your Garmin is listed at the top of the window, select your maps and click “Start Installation”. The program will overwrite your old trail maps with the new ones; there is no need to manually delete them. Are lake crossings routable on the Trailintel snowmobile map?

• Today, no. We plan to explore this as a possibility for the upcoming 2026-2027 snowmobile season. Historically, with GPS Trailmasters, it was a liability issue - there is no way to guarantee the lake is ice, not water, at any given time to be able to instruct a user to cross it.

Why should I subscribe to Trailintel? Will it work without a subscription?

• Without a subscription, you miss out on most of the things that make our app great! Live trail data reports, turn-by-turn trail navigation, breadcrumb tracking, offline-enabled background maps, Garmin integration, and more! Without a subscription to our app, you will only see trails and select POI at a low zoom level without access to detailed information, and nothing will be available offline.

Do clubs need to make a purchase to be part of Trailintel or use the features?

• No! Trailintel’s club management suite is a free benefit to all ATV and snowmobile clubs. We thank you for doing what you do!
