Why isn't my trail map showing up on my Garmin?

Or, why is my Garmin sending me down the streets?  When maps are not properly enabled/disabled, it can cause display and routing issues on your Garmin GPS.

If you notice your trails have suddenly disappeared, your Garmin is creating routes on the streets as well as the trails, or any other display or routing issues come up, the first thing to check is always the enabled map settings.

  • Go to Settings
Then, dependent on model and software version:
  • Go to Map and Vehicle, or Map Display
  • Go to myMaps, Map Info, Setup/Configure Map, or Map Manager
    • On some Tread devices, you will also need to click "Manage Device Maps" to view maps. You then may need to click the three lines in the upper left corner, then select "Installed maps"

This will bring you to a list of everything that is currently installed on the device. To ensure proper functionality, all maps must be disabled except for the TrailIntel Trail Map.

  • If you are using a device with a factory or custom topographic map, like a zumoXT2 or Tread, that map can remain enabled as well.

After confirming your map settings, review your map display or attempt routing again to ensure proper operation.
