How do I navigate to a destination on the trails on my Garmin?
Once you have the TrailIntel map installed to your Garmin GPS, navigating to any of our thousands of preloaded trailside services is simple!
There are a few ways to find a destination to navigate to while out on the trails. With the TrailIntel map on your Garmin GPS, points of interest like food, fuel, lodging, parking, scenic views, repair shops, and more are preloaded into the map data for your convenience.
There are a variety of ways to locate your destination to create a route with turn by turn directions on the trails.
- You can browse the map and tap any location along the trails, then hit “Go” from the bottom right corner of the screen.
- You can click “Where to?” from the home screen, then search for locations either with a spell search or by browsing the included categories.
- You can navigate to any custom waypoint you have previously saved on your device - this varies by model and software version.
- If you don’t have a particular location in mind but would like to travel to a specific town, simply type it into the spell search.
For example, if you’re out riding and notice you’re low on fuel, finding the nearest gas station is as easy as clicking “Where to?”, “Categories”, then “Fuel Stations”. This will display a list of all fuel stations, with the ones nearest to you first. Simply select the one you’d like to navigate to and click “Go”!
While viewing the map, you can also enable the Up Ahead feature to view the nearest POI as you travel along your route. Refer to your Garmin Owner’s Manual here for info on how to enable this, as it varies by model: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/ql/?focus=manuals
